Clarity Psychotherapy

At Clarity, we believe that psychotherapy differs from counselling in several important ways:
• The type of problems that psychotherapy works well with are usually much deeper and have been experienced for extended periods, for example long term anxiety or depression.
• Treatment is quite different. The initial assessment process is very thorough and can in itself be very insightful and helpful. The relationship with the therapist is also more involving and dynamic.
• Duration of therapy can be longer term, usually in excess of three months. For example, at Clarity we specialise in a more in depth, longer term treatment called Schema Focused Therapy (SFT), which is extremely effective for dealing with the underlying causes of symptoms or issues.
• A key difference is that psychotherapy objectives and outcomes address and focus on the causes and meanings of problems, not just the surface symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy
This is a form of specialised CBT that all Clarity’s experienced therapists practice. It is a research and evidence-based, proven approach, which is used for the deeper seated issues, such as:

Phobias, Anxiety, Depression, Major Stress
Addictions, Personality disorders
Long term confidence or self esteem issues
Unresolved issues from past experience(s)
Trauma, post accident or Post Traumatic Stress

Fees for Psychotherapy and CBT are £57.50 including VAT per session. Lower fees may be available for those currently not in work or in full time education.
